CODE OF CONDUCT


PLAYERS:

  1. Treats league officials, coaches, teammates and opponents with respect.
  2. Treats facilities with respect. Players realize the use of the Perry Township facilities, or any other athletic facilities, is a privilege.
  3. Exercises self control at all times, setting the example for others.
  4. Respects officials and accepts their decisions without argument or gesture.
  5. Wins without boasting, loses without excuses and never quits.
  6. Always remembers that it is a privilege to represent the league and community and conducts themselves in a way that brings only credit to the league and community.
  7. Plays hard but plays within the rules.
  8. Does not use profanity, tobacco, alcohol or drug products and demands the same from teammates.
  9. Makes every effort to attend practices and games, is on time and notifies coaches when you are unable to be at games or practices.

YOUTH CHEER:

  1. Treats league officials, coaches, teammates and opponents with respect.
  2. Treats facilities with respect. Cheerleaders realize the use of the Perry Township facilities, or any other athletic facilities, is a privilege.
  3. Exercises self control at all times, setting the example for others.
  4. Supports team without boasting, loses with grace and never quits.
  5. Always remembers that it is a privilege to represent the league and community and conducts themselves in a way that brings only credit to the league and community.
  6. Does not use profanity, tobacco, alcohol or drug products and demands the same from teammates.
  7. Makes every effort to attend practices and games, is on time and notifies coaches when you are unable to be at games or practices.

COACHES:

  1. Treats own players, opponents and league officials with respect.
  2. Treats facilities, wherever located, with respect. Coaches realize that the use of the Perry Township facilities is a privilege that can be taken away at any time if the facilities are abused.
  3. Inspires in the players a love for the game and the desire to compete fairly.
  4. Is the type of person he/she wants the players to be and conducts themselves in a way that brings only credit to the league and community.
  5. Disciplines those on the team who display unsportsmanlike behavior.
  6. Respects the judgment and the interpretation of the rules by the officials and demands the same from his/her players.
  7. Knows he/she is a teacher and understands that the playing field or court is a classroom.
  8. Does not use profanity in the presence of spectators or athletes. Use of alcohol, tobacco, etc.in the presence of athletes is discouraged and must comply with local ordinances or posted regulations.
  9. Makes every effort to attend practices and games, is on time and promptly notifies players/parents of any changes in schedule.
  10. It is the responsibility of every coach to have a preseason parents meeting.
  11. Supervise his/her team to insure their behavior is in compliance with their obligations under this Code of Conduct.


PARENTS/GUARDIANS/SPECTATORS:

  1. Treats own coaches, players, opponents and league officials with respect.
  2. Treats facilities, wherever located, with respect Spectators realize that the use of Perry Township facilities is a privilege that can be taken away if the facilities are abused.
  3. Treats other spectators with respect and supervises the parent's other children attending the event to insure their safety and good behavior.
  4. Is the type of person he/she wants the player to be.
  5. Supports in the players a love for the game and the desire to compete fairly.
  6. Supports disciplining those on the team who display unsportsmanlike behavior.
  7. Respects the judgment and the interpretation of the rules by the officials and defers ALL communication with the officials to coaches.
  8. Supports the coach as a teacher and understands that the playing field or court is a classroom.
  9. Does not use profanity in the presence of spectators or athletes. Use of alcohol, tobacco, etc. at Southport Developmental Football functions is discouraged and must comply with local ordinances or posted regulations.
  10. Must notify coach if a player is unable to attend practices and/or games. Must make every effort to have player show up on time for practices and games.
  11. Supervise his/her son or daughter to insure their behavior is in compliance with their obligations under this Code of Conduct.
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in the following disciplinary action listed below.

INFRACTION & VIOLATION LEVELS:

  1. LEVEL ONE - Removal from current activity (game, practice or event) plus suspension of next game.
  2. LEVEL TWO - Removal from current activity plus three (3) game suspension.
  3. LEVEL THREE - Removal from current activity plus season.
  4. LEVEL FOUR - Removal from current activity plus ban from organization.

All infractions and violations are reviewed by the SDF Leadership Council.
